The Longchamp Brand
Longchamp was founded in Paris in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, and is still owned and run by the Cassegrain family today.
There is a famous horse race track in Paris called Longchamp. Next door to it was an old mill in which the founder of Longchamp, Mr. Cassegrain used to pass in front of. The name “Cassegrain” means miller in French. The company soon found its name here, it being only a short trot from the mill to the miller and onto the race track itself, named Longchamp.
Longchamp is a privately own, unlisted family run company. Therefore, it does not publish annual financial reports and does not release its financial results.
More than 2200 people work for the Longchamp group. More than half of them are employed in France.
